Squash Palmerston North is the second oldest squash club in the country. The club has a very proud history on and off the court.
The on court success boasts a number of former National Champions from both junior and senior ranks, while off the court Squash PN continues to set the standard in club administration.
This has been recognised in recent times by Squash NZ with the club being awarded the ‘club of the year’ prize in 2000 and 2002 and again in recently for 2005. In 2003 the club triumphed with the ‘Manawatu small business of the year award’.
Along with the above achievements, SquashGYM was the host to the Prince World Junior Mens Squash Champs in July 2006.
Over the past year the club under went some huge changes. We have just recently combined with the Palmerston North Cosmopolitian Club and the Palmerston North Bowling Club to form Club Palmerston.
As you can see from the photos below, much has been happening to the exterior of the club as well. We have built three new ASB squash courts - these have moveable walls for doubles! Courts 1 and 2 were also changed to glass backs. Both the mens and womens changing rooms have had work done on them which will result in a sauna being built...
