Town v Country

Tomorrow from 2.00pm at SquashGym is the inaugural Town v Country. Wellington (Town) are bring a team of 12 up to Palmy to take on Manawatu (country) in a series of singles and doubles matches.

The challenge has been organised by SquashGym's club manager Michael Williams and Club Kelburn manager Rob Walker and is hoped to become traditional end of season challenge.

Included in the Wellington side is former World Number 3 Stu Davenport. Davenport was a superstar in the 80's with and climbed to number 3 in the world behind the great Jahangir Khan and New Zealand's Ross Norman. Davenport still maintains A grade status and will play up and coming SquashGym player Joseph Watts. That match kicks off at 2.40pm on court 2.

There should be some great Squash on display tomorrow with a total four a grade matches being played. So get down and support the Manawatu Boys. The upstairs bar will be open all afternoon.
